In my previous post I announced that I was going to bake a cake for my sister's birthday and I showed you some of my inspiration. Now I can proudly show you my own cake! This is the first time ever I do this so don't be too hard on me.
Tattaaaaaa.. Okay it's not perfect and not really how I wanted it to be, but for the first time ever, I think I did a pretty good job. The cake was chocolate on the inside, with raspberry butter cream on top and some white chocolate frosting to decorate the cake. My cake wasn't as high as I wanted it to be and the decoration didn't turn out the way I pictured it but everybody liked it so I didn't complain.
The recipe is very simple. A normal chocolate cake, butter cream is very easy to make and the frosting was cream with white chocolate. But I am not going to give you the recipe I followed to make this cake because it collapsed and I followed the steps very well.
For the butter cream I used non-salted butter (room temperature!) and powdered sugar. The ratio must be 50/50. I used 70 g each. Afterwards I added fresh raspberries. You can choose how many you add, depends on how strong you want this to taste like your raspberries.
To decorate my cake with some flags I made some with masking tape. Then, I've put them on strings and I tied these to some hard straws. I really liked the look of it, it isn't perfect which is okay because I made it myself.
You cut the pieces off which are too long so it looks a little tidy, you don't want it too look like you didn't put a lot of effort to it! To me, this looks beautiful and it was so easy to make. Masking tape is something you really want when you like decorating things but don't want to mess things up with paint.
Next I'll show you some pictures of the baking process because I want to do photography and I want to share my pictures with you.
This is all I have to offer you, hope you liked it and let me know if there's anything I can help you with!
Love, Sinitta
