Birthday cakes

 January, 27th is the birthday of my sister and I'm actually excited because I want to surprise her with a self-made cake!

I already looked up some recipes and I think I'm going to keep the base of the cake very simple because she doesn't really like a lot, she's a though eater! So it will just be normal cake and whipped cream. I'll write down the recipe here so you can use it sometimes!

note: the units are in kilogram, gram and liters, you can do the
math if want pound or whatever you're used to, hihi

Ingredients:
* 3 eggs
* 120 gr sugar
* 95 gr flower
* 25 gr maizena (cornstarch)
* little bit of salt
* 0.5 l whipped cream
* jam (for instance strawberry jam)

Method:
Put the eggs into a bowl and whisk in the sugar. Beat until you receive a light mass.
Mix in the flower and maizena. Grease your baking tin (a round one with 25 centimeters in diameter).
Preheat the oven to 170°C. Your cake should be baked after 40 minutes.
Let your cake cool off and then slice it in half, you have two layers now. Here you can smear your jam and whipped cream.

And just like that, you have a pretty good base for your cake and you can start decorating! Here are some ideas which I liked and maybe will try for my sisters cake.

I really like these, especially the first one so I guess I'll try something like that. When I made it, I'll definitely post a picture and tell you how it went.

Enjoy your baking!

Love, Sinitta
